Under policy direction from the Board of Supervisors, the County Counsel serves as principal legal counsel to the County of Monterey; plans, organizes, manages, and
provides direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Office of County Counsel.

 

The Litigation Support Manager position is a new role within the Youth Practice Group at DRC. The position will supervise three to four legal support staff and play a leading role in, coordinating litigations, and administrative hearing docket to ensure all timelines are met, work is staffed and that legal support staff are adequately trained. The position will be supervised by the Managing Attorney.

The Firm is looking for 3L Law Students and recent graduates to start in the Fall 2024. We are currently hiring across the firm. Once Bar Exam results are received, each law clerk will be considered for a full-time Associate Attorney position within the firm.

In addition to taking depositions and making appearances at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, as an Associate Attorney you will:

  • assume responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity
  • communicate with clients
  • develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases
  • negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as liens
  • draft pleadings and reports
  • handle all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation
