In this role you will:
Independently manage an active litigation caseload.
Defend, litigate, and resolve workers’ compensation matters.
Collaborate with experienced attorneys and internal partners.
Conduct discovery, draft pleadings, negotiate settlements, and appear at WCAB hearingsand
trials.
Telework is available for this position, with required in person appearances (hearings).

Desired Qualifications:
Workers’ compensation litigation experience
Analytical, Written, and Oral Communication Skills

Associate Attorney – Employment Litigation
Fitzpatrick & Swanston is seeking an Associate Attorney with an interest in employment
litigation to join our practice. Strong research, writing, and client relationship
skills are
essential. The ideal candidate will possess practical experience in employment cases from pre-litigation through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings. The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time, in-person, in Salinas.
Our practice focuses on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination,
and other California Labor Code and FEHA claims, as well as wage and hour litigation,
including class actions and PAGA. This role offers the opportunity to independently
manage cases while working closely with experienced litigators on complex matters.
Qualifications:
1. Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
2. 1 - 3 years of civil litigation experience
3. Experience in employment law is highly desirable
